Communication Arts Notebook, called C.A.N.
This is in a composition notebook; students will all to it during the year. Sometimes I will give information that they will glue into the notebook, and some information they will write in the notebooks themselves.
A table of contents will be kept to organize all the information. Each page will need to have a heading that will be listed, along with the page number, in the table of contents.
Book Talk information is several pages long, and it will be covered in depth when it is given to the students. A link to the pages is at the bottom of the Book Talk page if you would like to take a look at it.
The information that is due for the monthly reading log is also in the C.A.N. If a student misplaces the reading log, he or she may just create a monthly calendar with all of the required information.
A list of 2008-2011 Mark Twain nominated books and 2008-2011 Truman Reader Award nominated books is glued into the C.A.N.
Language, writing and reading information will be kept in the C.A.N. and will be added throughout the year.
