2008-2011 Mark Twain and Truman nominated books

Each student is required to read one Mark Twain Award or Truman Award nominated book by a week before Christmas Break and another book by the end of the year.  A summary of each book will be glued into the Communication Arts Notebook during the first few days of school, so that each child will have over 80 books to read about; with this variety everybody will be able to find a book interesting to them.   I have read all of the Mark Twain and Truman nominated books and will continue to discuss each book throughout the first quarter.

The report that will be used for the test over the book is the similar to the format for Book Talk.  (A copy of the format for Book Talk is in the Communication Arts Notebook.)  The in-class report over either the Mark Twain or Truman nominated book will take place at least 3 times during the 1st semester.

1st semester report dates:

1st report will be completed Sept. 13, 2011.

2nd report will be completed in class Oct. 11, 2011.

3rd report will be completed in class Nov. 8, 2011.

4th report will be completed in class Dec. 13, 2011.

2nd semester report dates:

1st report will be completed in class on Jan. 10, 2012

2nd report will be completed in class on Feb. 14, 2012

3rd report will be completed in class on March 13, 2012.

4th report will be completed in class on April 10, 2012.

5th report will be completed in class on May 14, 2012.
